    5.5's are the way to go. 6" is just too big for a PC to use efficiently. Make sure you have the correct backing plate as well.

    I use a Werner platform from Lowe's. It's a little over 4 feet long, 20 inches tall and about 15 inches or so wide to stand on. The legs fold up for storage.
