Re: Headlight Restoration-new UV sealant idea

Any durability results. I've seen 1 review and it was a little disappointing considering the claims by the company

Do you have any durability results on the product you use? Just received mine and have seen 1 durability review and it was a little disappointed considering the claims by the company.

    Re: Liquid sovereign separating

Thanks for the reply. So am I correct in the assumption that it should be the consistency of lotion? I will try shaking. And I will get back to you thanks again.

    Liquid sovereign separating

I purchased a bottle quite some time ago, never opened, always kept inside the house. So no extremes in temperature or anything like that. I went to use it the other day and it was very watery. I did...

Re: Single Stage Paint- issues with scratches

LoL. Definitely a thread resurrection. I'm surprised I still got a notification. Anyway hard to tell from the pic but the top long scratch looks like its on the surface mostly. But that bottom one...

I just got the new one and it seems to be an iPhone native app. A review said the other one was just a bookmark to the website. This one seems like it will be easier to navigate on the phone and...

    New autogeek app?

So I have the original app for autogeek and opened it and got a message that there is an autogeek app for the iPhone. I thought this strange since I was using the app currently. So I went to the app...
  9. Re: so i screwed up my clear coat repair, thoughts?

Nothing to be ashamed of there I think you made a nice save considering the issues at the start. Good job. Hey what year is your car? I think we have the same color looks close anyway. And we both...
  10. Re: so i screwed up my clear coat repair, thoughts?

Timaishu sorry your having issues. But as others have said I think it's fixable, just more work than anticipated. If you can get 105 then get it and 205 to finish it. But if not I have removed...
  11. Re: Updated 11/21/11: Clear Coat Failure and Repair(with all pics)

Hey better late than never. That's good advise thanks for your input on this. So with your backround what would you suggest for sand paper as far as the last step before clear. Some said what I used...

    Re: detailing in the cold

Another tip I've used is for your hands. I use a winter glove liner it's a thin insulating glove that you can put rubber gloves on over top so your hands will stay warmer and dry.

Thanks it's not perfect but from 3-4 ft you can't see it unless you know it's there.
  14. Re: Clear Coat Failure and Repair(with all pics)

Thanks for the advise will definitely keep those tips in mind
  15. Re: Clear Coat Failure and Repair(with all pics) UPDATED

Ok everyone here is the update this all started on september 12 so we are just over 2 months in. Standing at a normal distance, about 3-4 ft. away the repair still looks good. Closer up you can see...
  16. Re: Clear Coat Failure and Repair(with all pics)

And actually this particular can does not have a mixing ball as stated on the can. For what it's worth. :-) But still just a spray can

  18. Re: Clear Coat Failure and Repair(with all pics)

Yes this was a rattle can clear. Thank you. Turned out better than I though too but as stated we will see what happens with those pesky spots.
  19. Re: Clear Coat Failure and Repair(with all pics)

Thanks rakkvet I try to make it a practice to not portray something I'm not I think if you let people know up front that you don't know everything and know it, there more inclined to be helpful and...

  21. Re: Machine washing your detailing paraphernalia with your clothes...?

I, like you, take a while to accumulate a load of towels. So I just do them buy hand. AG sells PRS or Pad Renewing Solution made by Grit Guard. Works very well with wax removal towels and polishing...

Re: 1950 Ford Tudor - Single Stage Paint

Mike P. has posted articles on single stage paint do a search and have a read, very informative. I've heard that black is one of the softest, so you probably wont need anything too aggressive. i did...
  23. Re: Clear Coat Failure and Repair(with all pics)

I totally agree with you both. I hope this hasn't got lost in the mix so for others just jumping in here I will reiterate, Im not a pro painter. Im sure there were processes or techniques that were...
  24. Re: Clear Coat Failure and Repair(with all pics)

That's probably the more permanent way to go. My only reservation would be that "Shiny Lil Detlr" said that once you mix the product in the can it has a pot life of 48 hours and i would imagine its a...
  25. Re: Clear Coat Failure and Repair(with all pics)
