Good to hear your opinion Mike.

    Question?

What do you think about the power of the tool to maintain pad rotation and oscillation when using the 2" pad with the 12mm orbital connector?

I found you have to keep an eye on the pressure you put on the pad. It takes a little getting used to with such a small machine.

You don't need to remove the plastic shroud
Just hand thread on then use spanner wrench..
I did a quick test with mine before I send it back to Rupes for exchange

I was simply showing the tool and its components.

When I tried to use the 2" backing plate with the rotary backing plate connector the back of the backing plate rubbed against the shroud. In fact the contact was so tight the backing plate would not spin.

The instruction manual doesn't offer any substantial information about the tool including whether or not the shroud should be in place at all time or removed when used as a rotary polisher. There's nothing on these topics.

I removed the shroud so I could use the rotary backing plate and after attaching the backing plate with the shroud removed it functioned just fine.

Maybe I over tightened the rotary backing plate connector and the backing plate causing the backing plate to contact to tightly against the shroud?

I'm actually very mechanically inclined, enough to rebuild engines, brakes and do all my own mechanical work on my own trucks so I kind of doubt I over-tightened but... maybe.

Tried to call Todd Helme and Jason Rose for their input but no answer.
