hello there
i just got my pc and i havent started it yet because the polisher power is (((120v and in my country bahrain its 220v))) and also the plug is different watch the pics:

I'll suggest to get yourself one of these for the "electrical" part of your question.

I forgot if the PC has the little red switch to change to 220volt. If it does then all you'll need is an type G adapter to mate the 2 prong to the 3 prong outlet. If it does not, you'll need a step down power inverter.

First picture of the two identicle washers are for those backing plate adapters. They help keep the backing plates tight and fit on the "large threaded side".

Second picture washer is for the adapter with the side with "no threads".
Mating a drill to a rotary backing plate.

Third picture washer is for the adapter with the "threaded end". Mating the PC to a rotary backing plate.

Note that both adapters are for use of a rotary backing plate. Both ends need to be very secure otherwise you run the risk of the backing plate coming loose. If possible use a DA backing plate for the PC and you will not need that adapter.

earlier this day i asked an electrical shop about converter - transformer
but he wasnt sure to switch on the polisher i told him dont start it !
he mentioned "coil" something i didnt understand

and when i search the net some step down plugs are not good with heavy duty items and some are
the question is how can i know that considering that im going to buy that plug from my country?

some heavy duty transformers cost more than 100US

and some cost 15 usd but they say <== do not use with hairdryers - power tools ?!

im really confused now

Another thought/idea:

AGO member Danube...Was faced with a similar "electrical" situation as you seem to have. I'd bet that if you would shoot a PM towards Danube's way, a resolution would be forthcoming in regards to this matter. That is, and unless, of course, Danube would reply to your thread first-hand.

I also live in a country that uses 220 volts. You need to get a step-down transformer - I use one similar to the below:




You need to make sure that the transformer is rated to handle the power draw of the PCXP - I use one that's rated for 1000 watts. You'll also need a plug adapter, like the one pictured:

and how much did u buy the transformer ?

Around 3,000 Philippine pesos, which comes out to about 70 USD. It's a locally company though, so I don't know how applicable that price will be to a different country. Another option worth considering is getting an AVR - these usually have a 110v output as well. Again, same consideration - you need to get one rated to handle to power draw of your Porter Cable.

what if i used a transformer that handle 500 watts will that be okay ?
and i hope i didnt annoy you with my questions
