Re: Should I trade in my PC for a Megs or GG?

I would keep it. I love the PCXP and is prolly my most used tool. It works great and hasn't let me down yet!

Keep it.

Later down the road get a more powerful machine and use the PCXP as a backup/small pad machine.

I would get rid of it while you still have a chance.

Keep your PC and buy a GG so you have both. Thats what I plan on doing

Re: Should I trade in my PC for a Megs or GG?

Keep it!! Ive used mine almost more than my rotary this summer and loved it Great orb and as you've said 1# already got it. 2# not doing more than light polishing & waxing (more than enough for your needs) I would check out some videos do a little more reading up on products and techniques before returning it? Don't sweat the buyers remorse.. you've made a good choice next buy will be a rotary anyway not another orbital down the road of course but just saying???

There you go !

I still have my PC7424 (good old regular model not XP) that I bought back in 08. I only do a few cars and bikes a year and it fits my needs perfectly. I'm sure the others may be better but for me it's a great little polisher. I have never had an issue with it and with the right pad/polish it does everything I need.

Given that you can still return it with no consequence, no monetary loss, I'd return it and replace it with a G110v2.

Re: Should I trade in my PC for a Megs or GG?

Drew,

I agree with your thoughts.

You have it and have been pleased with its performance so far. If you decide to step it up a bit in the future, the Flex 3401 is one heck of a machine that you will no doubt enjoy.

I have the first generation Porter Cable 7424 and the Flex 3401. Both serve there intended purpose and I'm glad to have both..

Another thought would be adding a rotary if you are at all interested. Rotaries are great machines and are not difficult to master, all it takes is some practice and experience.
