Need help w/ dual purpose dual action

I'm looking for some advice for a DA polisher that will be great for polishing a car as well a fiberglass boat. I already have a Makita rotary, so I'd like something to complement it. I am fairly new to machine polishing, so for now I will only be using the Makita on the boat, as I believe there is less chance of damaging the gelcoat. The DA will be for tight areas on the boat, sealant/wax application, and the cars - but my immediate need is for the boat.

Since I have nothing for a DA, I think my best move will be a kit. From other posts, I think I should stick with 5.5" pads - does this sound right?. What color pads and polish are recommended for light oxidation removal on fiberglass? Is there a kit that is recommended for my needs?

Also, I'm not a pro (obviously), so I expect to use this tool maybe 4-5 times a year. I don't mind paying for a quality machine, but I also need to be able to justify it to the boss.

Thanks in advance for your advice. I'm learning alot here, and I sense an opportunity to learn quite a bit more!

Craig
