What's in the box?













One thing for sure, the new W68DA backing plate is a well built backing plate with plenty of flexibility. The plate itself will outlast the Velcro hooks...





The new v2 also comes with a new and improved wrench, it feels more stout and has a nice matte black finish.



The top model is Generation I the bottom model is Generation II




The new v2 is easily identifiable by the side-port cap which you remove in order to replace the brushes...



The Gen I model does not have the side-port cap.




The new v2 is a tad longer in the body but the rest appears to be identical to the Gen I




I put her to bed with the rest of the gang, she should feel right at home snuggied between the Porter Cable 7424XP and the Griot's Garage ROP



Now I need something in horrific condition to take her for a test drive...

Mike somewhere on your box will be a sticker with the date the polisher was manufactured.

Mine says 10-15-09. Pretty neat I have never seen that before on a polisher.

Correct. There's a sticker on the box that says,

Serial No. XXXXXXXX
Production Date: 20091015

Lot traceability down to the day of mfg…..

This is a very important feature in the mfg environment. If defects start occurring patterns can be established by date of mfg and can be traced to any tooling adjustments/changes if the process change records were properly maintained….
