Question washer on PC 7424

Does anyone know about a washer that is for the 7424?

A friend who also has a PC7424 told me I shoud have a washer that goes on between the machine and the backing pad.

If I don't have one it can cause overheating.

I looked and don't think I ever had one on it.

You should use a washer. It will not cause overheating. Like most things that are screwed or bolted on, it should have a washer as a backing.

There is indeed a washer and noted in instructions to install it. Several that have failed to use it have suggested some overheating, hot, or burning smells.

If you're missing the washer, a reputable hardware store can help. The PC manual gives the dimensions of the washer. You should be using it.

Re: washer on PC 7424

wait, the backing plate comes with a wide flat washer.

are you talking about the small thicker washer that comes with it the same size as the nut on the PC?

i take it this should be used right?

Re: washer on PC 7424

Isn't the washer there just to provide clearance for the included wrench when removing/installing backplates?

I think it says so somewhere in the manual.

The washer keeps the bp from binding into the spindle.
