taking the backing plate off the flex

okay maybe im completely overlooking something and this should be easier than it is lol. i cant quite figure out how to take the backing plate off my flex xc3401. i took the allen screw in the middle out and it still wont come off. i dont wanna pull too hard on it because i dont want to damage nething.

When I took mine off it took some effort but not a lot. Try wiggling from side to side to dislodge the teeth some.

hehe no reason really. i was just reading through the manual and i wanted to make sure i knew how to take it off for when i need it replaced, which probably wont be for awhile.

thats the button on the back right?? if so yes hehe.

what is the clutch for anyway?? does it just stop the backing plate from rotating for when u take it on and off?
