IRON X or TRIX
Which do you prefer, Iron X or TRIX

Re: IRON X or TRIX
IronX is the better at removing iron; and TarX is better at tar. Trix is for if you are trying to do both at the same time. But IMO a dedicated product is almost always better.
So it really depends on what your goals and uses are...

Re: IRON X or TRIX
TriX IMO great for wheels. On paint I always hit with Stoners tarminator on tar spots, IronX, wash with IronX Snow Soap in foam cannon, then clay, compound, polish, LSP.
Trix removes tar well, but ironx will dissolve more ferrous iron particles than trix.
Detailing is a way of life, not a hobby!

Re: IRON X or TRIX
I prefer TRIX myself, but that's mostly due to my area... 9/10 vehicles I detail have both tar and iron in/on the paint, so it's easier/faster to hit them with TRIX to take care of them both.

I like TRIX for wheels as well. I don't get to use it on paint that often but IronX prior to claying makes the decon process so much easier.

I prefer each dedicated. You have to be careful with Tar X & TRIX around clear film and sensitive plastics.

Re: IRON X or TRIX
just got a bottle of trix, now im not sure if it is correct for my application? New Subaru crosstrek never detailed other than dealer. Will this be ok or should I have gotten iron x only? Thanks for your input.

Re: IRON X or TRIX
I just used TRIX on my car to remove some drag strip rubber and track prep from the fenders and misc. brake dust from the wheels after a day of fun and it worked extremely well on both. Mainly the tar/rubber was my goal and Like many, I went with a combo product for the sake of ease of use down the road when decontaminating other cars.

Re: IRON X or TRIX
I just finished up a bottle of trix after exclusively using iron x and stoner tarminator. I have to say the trix worked great and I feel like I'm going to use it a lot. On the white vehicle I worked on it seemed to work great removing iron deposits and it just melted the tar away. I haven't had a chance to use it on sap yet which is one thing I really like tarminator for. So who knows I'll probably just keep a gallon of iron x on hand still and just add trix to the toolbox with the ability to use both.

Re: IRON X or TRIX
I prefer Iron-X alone. If I just want to detar, I don't want the smell and expense of TRIX. TRIX, to me, is only for use on the bottom half of the vehicle, which limits it's usefulness. If I was a pro, and didn't mind having a lot of inventory, I could see how it would save time.
