I've tried searching but I can't find an answer. Is cquartz able to be applied to gel coated carbon fiber hoods?

If you plan on applying CQuartz a few times I really recommend getting Pec-Pads. They don't soak up as much of the CQuartz thus saving product and they are lint free, won't scratch and are very durable.
For small spots I just fold a Pec-Pad in half twice to quarter it and that allows me to easily coat wheels, side mirrors, door handles and other hard to reach areas.

For larger areas I take two pads stacked on-top of each other and use the little blue foam applicator that comes with the CQuartz kit just as you would use the blue mf suede cloths that come with it.

    For $9 you get 100 4"x4" pads in a pack. Amazon.com: PEC-PAD Lint Free Wipes 4"x4" 100per/Pkg: Health & Personal Care

They look like they're pretty decent. I may give them a try.

Re: How to apply cquartz? - complete video guide!

Just applied CQuartz 2014 formulation (not UK as far as I know) to my 2007 Mini Cooper S. I've been a professional detailer for over thirty years now in the San Diego area. Did a full paint correction before application. I thought the product was extremely easy to use. Cool, 55 degree evening in my garage and very humid as well tonight. I applied in criss cross pattern and let it dry about 20-25 minutes. I think it would set up a whole lot faster in drier and warmer conditions. That said, for my first time using this stuff, the conditions were perfect as I think they were very forgiving. Nothing got "too" dried out and tacky. I thought the car came out fantastic and can't wait to try this out on client cars and my other vehicles as well. I'll be keeping a close eye on durability and I'll hit it with the Reload spray after a week or so and then about every third or fourth wash after that. I used a very low nap microfiber for the initial wipe and followed that up with a brand new Costco yellow microfiber for final wipe.
