    Aluminum Polish

trying to find a polish that would be good on uncoated aluminum wheels. i know that eagle one wadding polish works pretty good, it just take for ever. isnt there something out there that can polish aluminum like silver polish does to silver just wipe on rub in and wipe off. o need something that is done by hand because it is so hard/ impossible to get a machine in some of the rims. please help thank you

    BlueMagic Metal Polish.
Can't go wrong, let the polish do the work for you, easily found over the counter.
Doesn't take much effort on your part , oh it also protects so that's a plus IMO

No...Not really. Unless you want to try:

-"The Peddlers' Truck Stop Aluminum Polish":
    (NaHCO3 + HOH)

    -A "poultice" of Corn Starch/Water:
Some say: Argo...I say: Bob's Red Mill Corn Starch.

White diamond metal polish and sealant. I have about 8 different metal polishes and always go back to this one.

    Re: Aluminum Polish

There is no wipe on and wipe off product for uncoated aluminum. Aluminum suffers from oxidation (like rust on steel). The only way to remove (rust) is to abraid it off. Like paint you can't "polish" off rust. The up side is you can never burn through a top coat so what ever it takes to remove the oxidation can be buffed to a high "chrome like" finish. I have used 400 grit sandpaper (imagine doing that to paint) and two step polished that back to a high gloss alloy wheel finish. There are lots of sites about metal polishing which is way different than paint polishing. Also metal polishing produces just black residue which stains everything. I use paper towels for most sessions and disposable cloth for final polishes only (there are lots of polishes here on AG that are final step products that will work well after the root oxidation has been removed).

Busch Super Shine Aluminum Polish is pretty good. I use to use it on a Peterbilt I drove back in the day. Might look up Tony's Metal Art videos on Youtube also, he has some really good videos & shows how to polish aluminum to perfection. Bad Dog aluminum polish really works good too.

    Re: Aluminum Polish

I just gave the following combo a go and it worked very well. Used P21 Multi Surface Finish Restorer followed by Meguiar's Fine Cut metal polish and sealed with Wolfgang's metal sealant. Worked great.

I have seen another members post using Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish on his exhaust and it came out amazing.
