Re: Review: BlackFire BlackICE... The wax you have been waiting for
Hey Mike,
question; how come you went from a G110v2 to a GG6 (on your trunk)? I normally switch polishers only when I go from different size backing plates or switching from a compound to a polish or wax. also what tool did you use to clean your rims/wheels?
overall your results came out fantastic

Sir,
I used the G110v2 for the polishing step and a GG3 to apply the BlackICE. Fellow forum member parkerslade came by and helped with the detail and he was on the GG6 for the polishing step. Both of us were using the same pads.
I used the Daytona speed master wheel brush for the barrels and a Mothers wheel brush for the face.
Thank you for the comment. I just came back from another car show with over 2000 pictures and I'm whooped. I will get a thread together for this one as well.

Newbie question. Why do you tape off certain sections? How do you know which sections to tape off or not?

Tape off trims due to product staining them. It's a pain to clean afterwards.

Thank you! To bad it's so hard to maintain it now to AGO standards here in Germany as I don't have a garage anymore. But I do have the autobahn....

Agreed. All the trim on my car is black plastic and if it hit with a pad and polish it will stain the trim white.

If you use liquid polish like Optimum Hyper Polish do you still need to tape the trims? Should you also tape off chrome trims?

Yes. Any time you use a polish you should tape off the black plastic trim to avoid staining. For chrome trim you don't really have to as chrome can be polished.
