I will be working on a friends FJ Cruiser. It has plenty of plastic trim. The trim is not smooth, but the rough trim.
What products would you recommend for restoring for newness and durability?

Sorry this is probably a question asked frequently, but would like some recent feed backs.

Carpro DLUX or the Gtechniq C4. You'll probably need 2 bottles to do all that trim. It took me 1 & 2/3 30ml bottles of C4 to do the trim on a mid 2000 year Ford Explorer and Jeep Liberty Renegade. The FJ has those big panels, not just edge trim. The DLUX seems to spread a bit further than C4.

C4 is supposed to last 2-3 years
DLUX is suposed to last up to 1.5 years I think

Both are silicon oxide SIO2 based nano coatings. The DLUX is glossier in my opinion. Both are great at restoring the new look and maintaining that look.

You can also use PoorBoys Trim Restorer. Less exspensive then the Gtech.

There are a variety of trim restoration products available and they go from very inexpensive to somewhat pricey but the more expensive ones last!

the FJ indeed has a ton of plastic trim. i have been using CG new trim look. with fantastic results i add.

just a few drops on a foam pad does it. lasts very long. beads up in rain and washes. it has been keeping my xterra trim perfect.

You may want to try Meg's Ultimate Black . Its inexpensive and has worked great on my Ram 1500 trim. I topped it with BlackFire Crystal Seal for more protection but it works good by its self. The above products are better but you are going to need a lot for that FJ.

Sounds great guys! I will take a look at all the products mentioned. Yeah I need something with good durability, but won't break the bank. Will post when I decide and post results. I won't be doing the car unitl a Nov.3.

Ultima Trim and Tire Guard (UTTG) fits the bill of decent durability, good looks, no streaking down panels after a rain or two and at the price doesn't break the bank. A little goes a long way so if you won't use it for many cars, get the 4 ounce bottle.
