Re: OVERATED: Which Products In Your Opinion?

A trick I was told was to fill a spray bottle up with water and then put about 1/4-1/2 oz of Armor All Protectant so it just turns it milky white. The guy that told me this said he uses it before the customer looks at the car because it makes it look glossy. I tried it and didn't like it. But it works great as an engine bay dressing. Mist on and let it sit. Then wipe with a towel and reapply as needed.

No, not really. I have no issues with how long it lasts - it's just that there are other products that are more durable, and look better, too (you don't even have to look very far - its Collinite brother, 915, is one of those I rate ahead of 845). This isn't to say that 845 is a bad product - just not the be-all, end-all LSP that some people seem to make it out to be.

I am strictly talking about the durability -

I'm a convert to microfiber cleaner. It does a much better job than any commercial laundry soap or APC I've used. I still use the vinegar though. Dawn works well on pads for me.

Sure - but not everyone who says 845 is overrated do so because they had issues with durability .

I was an "audiophile" at one time and learned that most of this stuff is marketing. I have weeded out my products and use only the ones that give me results. No marketing hype.

This is why I like samples. Try before buying. When you find a product that works, does what it say's it will. You stick with it.
Personal results are all that matters. You or your customer's satisfaction is the ultimate goal.

Re: OVERATED: Which Products In Your Opinion?

I wasn't really impressed with p21s concours wax. Although it was very easy to apply, and wipe off it didn't catch my attention really. Durability isn't that long either, but that could be due to the 100 degree weather here in Texas. I got the whole kit and the only thing that I enjoyed out of all of it was the paintwork cleanser. So easy to wipe off.

All Diamondite products. The windshield coating was lame. The speedclay works good but not with that speed clay sponge. It will mar the hell out of your windows.
