Thank you so much runrun411!
The DA rotation works fine so long as the pad is flat on the surface. Any tilt causes pad to slow down or sometimes stall. I was thinking that the action of depressing the power trigger constantly is possibly causing an unintentional torquing motion and consequently tilting the pad. I always had to concentrate on keeping the pad flat. This task would have been much easier if I didn't have to think about constantly pressing the power trigger (hence the one point in my suggestions for improvement). Thankfully, no pressure is required to make it remove swirls or sanding marks.
