7424x or Flex?

I use the Portor Cable now. Was wondering what the difference between that and the FLEX is?

Re: 7424x or Flex?

Flex has a forced rotation meaning faster correction with the flex. But, some will say it doesn't matter now if you use the megs MF pads with the porter.

Re: 7424x or Flex?

The Flex 3401 is:
  • Forced pad rotation
  • More powerful
  • Much stronger machine
  • More ergonomic
  • Better balanced
  • Flex 3401 - $340
  • Porter Cable 7424 - $150

I think I show and explain how the drive mechanisms work for all machines in the below video...

Re: 7424x or Flex?

They're both good. For the novice, I'd get the PC7424. For more serious paint correction the Flex 3401 is a superior machine. I have them both and use them for different things.

Re: 7424x or Flex?

Thanks all. I have been using the Portor Cable for like 3 years now. Time to upgrade to the FLEX.

Re: 7424x or Flex?

It was that video that solidified my choice of getting the Flex. I love mine. Very easy to use, even as an amateur.

Re: 7424x or Flex?

Saving this thread for future reference to reinforce that I should trade up from PC to Flex.
