Seeking Advice
Hello everyone, long time reader, first time poster.
I was wondering how I should tackle this small issue I have (scratch). Got my car lightly dinged in the parking lot, no dents, only a very fine hairline scratch. My nail very faintly grabs across part of the scratch, but not all of it. As is, the scratch is ALMOST impossible to find, heck I know where it is and half of the time I can't find it myself.
My plan was to gently wet sand with 2000/2500 grit, then finish off with the PC using Lake Country Orange with Wolfgang Swirl Remover 3.0 combined with Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish OR do you gentlemen think I can get by not wet sanding and going straight to the Porter Cable XP?
Thanks!

Re: Seeking Advice
Imo Id try some menz 400 or megs uc BEFORE touching it with sandpaper, sanding can be dangerous unless you are experienced.

Re: Seeking Advice
Menz fg 400 and and a microfiber pad should get that out just fine.

Re: Seeking Advice
Thanks everyone, the FG400, should I apply it by hand with the micro fiber pad or buy one for the PC?
EDIT: For my PC I have orange, black, white and red pads.

Re: Seeking Advice
By machine but you can start with something less aggressive as menz400 on a microfiber pad on a pc is pretty aggressive. Scratch is very light there is no need to sand that

Re: Seeking Advice
Think I can get away with using any of these? I don't have any experience working with MF pads, I'm also itching to get this done asap(Shipping takes a while to Canada) and hopefully don't have to buy anything else.

Re: Seeking Advice
I've removed worse scratches, by hand (that's all I know), with 3M Compound. That FG should rock.
Why ask if you can "get away with" finishing polish, rinseless wash, sealant, and shampoo -- on a Scratch? You already know FG and maybe the TSR are the things to try.

Re: Seeking Advice
WG TSR or FG 400 with Orange Pad, pretty good chance that will do it for you.

Then you could use the Finishing Polish on a finishing or polishing pad to clear up any haziness left from the compounding step. If necessary of course.
