I've got my PC7424XP, now I need a starter kit

I'm looking for a basic starter pad/compound kit for my PC7424XP. It appears the 5.5" pads work best. Which brand kit would work best for me? I'm just getting going using this equipment and want to get the best bang for my buck. Looking to spend $50-$100. Thanks, in advance, for any input!

remember to get a 5 inch backing plate if you dont have one, its important to get/use a smaller one than pads chosen.

No doubt ^ Griots makes a great DA (the best imo) but there BP is only good for the 2 pads they offer

    He didn't get a Griots...

This kit would be a good place to start Dual Action CCS 5.5 Inch Foam Pad Kit It is hard to recommend a polish without knowing what you are trying to tackle. If you didn't already get a backing plate then make sure you order that too.

While that's a nice kit, you really should go with 5.5" pads. Call AG and see if they will allow you to swap out pads. I don't know if it's possible but it's worth a shot. I haven't used WG TSR and FG, but it seems a few have with great results.

My vote goes to Meguiar's M105 and M205 along with Cyan and Tangerine Hydro Tech pads. Right now Autogeek is selling the 8oz. bottles of M105 & M205 for $15.98 for the pair. Then pick up (3) - 3 packs of HT pads, 5 cyan and 4 tangerine - $89.97. Use the Autopia discount code and your total comes to $95.36, which is enough to qualify for the Diamondite Crystal Gloss giveaway found here: Weekend Giveaway - Diamondite Crystal Gloss Surface Protectant

If you don't want to buy the HT pads, replace those with (3) 6 packs of flat pads for the same price. Buy 2 yellow, 6 orange, 6 white, and 4 gray/black.

Thanks for all the info! I'm still trying to absorb it all because I'm new to this aspect of detailing. If I use 5.5" pads, what size backing plate do I need to get? Also, do I have to get a backing plate specifically for my PC7424XP?
