Decided to buy a DA!
Alright well I've saved up enough money for a DA and I am thinking of going for a Griot's 6" polisher from their site since they have 15% off.
Now, the question is what pads and other accessories for the polisher would I need for a beginner? I have no clue where to start looking or what to look for, what size etc etc.
So basically what are some must haves for a polisher.
Maybe someone can help me find a kit? Or AG can help me make my own kit? At a good price of course, I'm on a tight budget hah.
I already have the polish and waxes.

Meguiars M105 & M205
Some LC 5.5" Pads (Orange, White, Black & Blue)
If you want a kit I think AG only sells the stuff with the DA Polisher. I will look.
Griot's does have the biggest motor and a Lifetime warranty so that's good. If you buy just the polisher at their website you will save $19.50, but if you buy it here you could save more by buying a kit. At Autogeek the coupon doesn't apply to DA's so I don't know what the best deal is. Keep in mind that you will probably have to pay for shipping for both.

Yeah I don't think they price match polishers. And I already have SS1 & SSR2.5 for polishing for now, maybe I should get M105 M205 anyways because I've heard nothing but great things about them.

Re: Decided to buy a DA!
Remember to get 5.5" pads and not 6.5" as 5.5" are better for DA. I also like the Flat pads vs the CCS ones. I'm not sure if the Griot's comes with a 5" or 6" backing plate, but make sure you have the right size with whatever size of pad you choose.

You can run 6.5" on the Griot's no problem, and it comes with a 6" backing plate. I own one, and I love it. I can't make it stop spinning.

Re: Decided to buy a DA!
Actually the problem with large pads on a DA aside from they are difficult to spin, is that when you use it on a non-flat surface, it is more prone to stop spinning. That would be based on my observation. Even the DA on 5.5 stops on the plastic cadding on my Rav. The wavy part on the lower portion of the door, check it out below.

Re: Decided to buy a DA!
I can't use 5.5" pads on the 6" backing plate that comes with the Griot's polisher?
So I'd have to buy another 5.5" backing plate?
What color pads are best for beginners? I don't think I will be using all the colors since I'm no expert.
