Can't clean this pad! Help

Man, this is going horribel , took me forever to get the pc dialed in to remove swirls and it still isn't where I need to be. So calling ti a night I used the XMT pad cleaner, which did work, but man I must have caked the Edge pad I scrubbed and squeezed this pad three times and it still has compound oozing out. What else can I try, washing machine? Soak overnight in a solution? Water? I would hate to ruin a bran dnew Edge pad!

just keep soaking and sqeezing it out..you must have used alot of product..but remember to change the rinse water frequently ...use a 2 bucket method..one with detergent in it..other just clean water...some wash in machines..but I prefer the hand wash....less chance of a pad breakdown...

I use murphy's oil soap or dawn..both have cleaned them good..but rinse them good..change water too till you see it rinseing clean...

hope this helps...and use less product...I did the same the first time..so do not feel bad..

Al

Scooterguitar, I'm not glad you are having trouble; however, it is comforting to know it ain't just me! Check out my recent thread chronicling my first attempt with the PC and Poorboys:

So it begins!

Did you have trouble with powder? I sure did!

Try leaving the pad in a bucket of hot water mixed with something like Tide Liquid Free for a day, Dawn should even work. Then massage it in another bucket of hot water, and rinse clean. Should work. Seems you caked the hell out of it lol, Optimum products don't need much addition to the pad for each panel, little bit goes a long way since it can be work for so long. Too much and you might end up with more of an oily type mess.

Soak it APC,Then Place an order for DP pad cleaner 1 scoop for 3 gallons then hit the pads with a nylon brush, or spray with simplegreen. I think you at this point you might have to much product with too much soap.
Don't panic take your time and everything will work out..

btw, place the pads between a thick towel and squeeze out the water then let'em air dry out side.

Well, the one that was really bad, soaked in Murphys oil soap and I worked it a lot, helped a bunch! So I have it soaking in murphys overnight, figure it can only help. Will totally rinse and clean it more tomorrow. Should I use another cleaner on it after the murhys?
The other pad that wasn't as bad, used XMT pad cleaner a few times, hit it again and am letting it soak in water overnight.
Gonna go real scantly on product from now on!
Guess should ask the following: How will I know if it is clean enough?
Second, say I use a wee bit of polish next time, if it runs dry or out on the pad, how will I know, nothing will be there? Can I do any damage running too little of polish?

When your soaking something, use hot water (I fill from tub and carry out lol). Hot water helps tremendously with a cleaner to losen and breakup particles, and especially wax type products from pads or microfiber. I have a bunch of my micros sitting in the garage right now in 3 buckets soaking in (or was) hot water mixed with Tide Liquid Free. TLF works awsome.
