UDM Backing PLate

I have a UDM. I bought the kit with the pads. I thought getting another backing plate might be a good idea. You know, a backup backing plate

But which backing plate do I buy?

The UDM comes with: "Ultimate Detailing Machine 5 Inch Hook & Loop Backing Plate Made of high quality, flexible urethane, the 5 Inch backing plate has Velcro brand hook and loop fasteners to secure pads to the polisher. This rugged backing plate is designed to stand up to the increased torque and larger motor of the UDM."

I don't see this plate sold separately. Am I missing it? The pads that came with it are 6.5" CCS Smart Pads, but again I don't see those for sale, only the 7.5" or 8.5" pads.

I'd like to buy a couple of additional 6.5" pads and the same backing plate. Am I just not looking in the right place?

i believe that the first generation UDMs have a couterweight that works with the 5 inch bp not a larger/heavier one.
he is working on a counterweight kit that works with larger bps and the edge system.

i personally think the UDM and PC work better with 4,5 and 6 inch pads. I use my larger pads only with rotary now.

That is correct. I find bp it comes with and 5" to 5.5" pads are best fit for it.

AG sells a 5-in backing plate and 6.5-in CCS pads. The UDM comes with ONE foam pad (not CCS) and a 5-in bp. If you have a CCS pad you purchased a kit with the base package.

Correct, I purchased the UDM Intro Kit.

I still do not see where on AG they sell 6.5" pads. Will the 7.5" pads work with the UDM?
