How long should velcro backing last?

I was working on a car Saturday when i noticed my LC CCS orange pad kind of boucing around and the backing plate was by the edge. When i pulled the pad off there was barely any grab what so ever . I was confused because i only used this pad maybe 2-3 times at most. My yellow, white and black/grey still have a ton a grab on the velcro, all pads were part of a kit i bought from AG. I have washed out the pad with DP pad cleaner and dried them foam down so the water would not settle into the velcro. Do i have a a bad pad? I have order 2 additional orange pads from AG so i hope this was just a manufacter defect or something.

I found that traditional velcro backing to last around 20 uses / washes. I have switched to the LC 7.5" Variable Contour pads and with many (50? uses) and haven't had one single issue. I've been trying to get LC to think about making the molded VC pads in smaller sizes... hopefully in the future because they are great pads and will last forever.

I think it depends on how rough you are with them and how many times you pull a pad off of them.

I have the exact same problem with my orange CCS pad. I got some free "regular" orange pads with my Menz orders and I like them better than the CCS orange pad because they at least stay on the PC

They should lasts for many years. Many detailers are very hard on the velcro when they rip the pad off the machine really quick. I am very gentle with them and have never had an issue and machine wash mine after three hand washes.
