There is no grease in the adapter at all, and therefore NO CHANCE that grease is comming from the adapter or system. Sometimes if you place alot of polish or compound in the center of the pad it will turn black with all the vibrations and action in the center area but it will not leak oil or grease. That sounds like it is comming from the PC itself and does not have anything to do with out pads, adapter or system. I would suggest contacting AG about any problems you have and they will take good care of you.
Somehow, I knew we would be called crazy.

Maybe someone with an IR Thermometer can take the temp at the PC head using the Edge 2000 and then let cool and take it again with a backing plate/CCS pad. Try to eliminate variables such as time of use, pad and polish aggressiveness.

Thank you for your answer, so the black stuff did come from the PC. Now let me ask you a question. Do you think the Edge 2000 is better to use with the 5" counter weight or the 6" counter weight. I bought the AG package and it came with a 5" counter weight. I think there's a lot of vibration with it.

The system is only to be used with the 6 inch counter weight. This may actually be the problem as when used with the 6 inch counter weight most people report less vibrations than with backing plates.
