Advice on backing plate/pads

I received my PC 7424 kit today( the kit for $189 on AG's site) and just want to make sure that the backing plate that was attached to the PC box is the one I'm supposed to use with the pads I got with the kit. I received two 5.5" orange pads and an assortment of 6" pads. It fits both sizes of course, but there's a lot of black showing around the backing plate with the larger pad attached. 5.5" pads seem to fit perfectly. Also, should I used the white pad it came with? Thanks for any "pro" thoughts you guys can give me, much appreciated.....looking forward to firing it up! Ok, ok....so I did already, put it on full tilt with the orange pad, accidently touched my leg with it while observing I would highly recommend to everyone NOT to do that if you like your skin the way it is produces a nice burn with a blister....at least I know what it will do on my paint now!! haha.... Anyhow, only took 1 day to get to me after I ordered it (thanks Autogeek) and it hums like a champ! Thanks for any thoughts on the pads....

should use the yellow backing pad in the lower corner. Flexible.

or this kit, same yellow flexible backing plate should be used.

I got the top kit in the picture, thanks. So I can use the plate with 5.5" or 6" pads, right? Also, the white pad that came with the PC is useable for polish, right? Thanks again!

you'll be fine with that backing plate, I too prefer the larger pads on it. As for the included pad (white), its not great and you will likely want to replace shortly. It can be used for polishing, and less aggressive than orange, but more than greys.
