Sounds like the engineers at edge are going to have a busy summer.

Well....I love my Edge stuff lol, over 1 year and no failures with any of the pads, biz partner borrowed my PC and Edge kit and did his and families vehicles and no issues and has been using it more as I'm too busy to even wash my own vehicles lol. If you guys are tearing pads from pressure, your putting way to much pressure on the PC. I always ran my PC and speed 6 when polishing. If you want to see damage, should have seen my friends Beemer when his LC pad tore and flew off on the hood causing the PC itself to put a gauge in the paint. I even have two 4" custom pads Aaron made me over a year ago as a tester for the small pads and they've been fine, orange one has a slight tear but that was b/c I hit the V8 emblem on my truck.

Holy Heck..........whatta thread!

All I've used is EDGE pads for the last 18 months.......everyday.......with maybe 3 failures. I love them.

I do think though that this thread could be handle with more etiquette from both the starter and some of the posters.

I with ya on this one buddy, even though I have had a few issues with the pads, the CS from aaron totally makes up for it, and there products make all the difference in the world with amazing results. Plus I belive in the idea that nothing is this world is perfect, #### happens and sometimes things don't go as planned.I figure, just trying to make a point, that for every 1 of my edge pads that went bad 1,000 worked just fine, its manufacturing, there is always a percent of defects that occur no matter how good you are.
Keep up the good work Aaron

This thread should have never been this long, and there are way too many pointless replies.... yes including this one...

The original poster obviously found he greatly dislikes the system, enough to say on here that he's "done with it"... I don't understand why everyone has to say how long they had their edge system and it's been fine... the OP obviously feels like he's getting better quality work, easier control, etc. etc. from the velcro system, so what's the point of great customer service, if you're finding a much better product overall elsewhere ?? Leave the guy alone and wish him luck with the new system he's using, because whether I congratulate him on going to LC pads, or someone else says they've used an edge adapter for 3 years without a failure, he's had his experience and has made up his mind.

Good luck...

Ditto, lecchilo. Yeah. my white 6" started disintegrating after two uses, but I just bought a replacement & ascribe that as an offering to the detail demigods; it probably would have been the backing plate or velcro on another system. Bottom line: I have greater issues with the PC and refining my technique than I do the pads. I empathize with the utter exasperation, though.

I think edge should improve on their system, there are some things which i think could be done better. It is a great idea, just needs some refining.

Actually LC was mentioned by the original poster, only natural that they might be used as an example. As far as keeping your feelings out of the post, you shouldn't. You should be able to voice your opinion just like anyone else. I know you understand this as I've read your comments to Aaron a number of times in the past and it's apparent they haven't changed. For me personally, I've had 4 backing plate failures over the years and many more Velcro detachment problems. I'm lucky, I've never damaged a finish because of one of these failures. Many of the Velcro problems were related to Meguiars pads but I've also had problems with LC. The way I look at it is simple, stuff happens regardless of whose product is involved. Sometimes it's a matter of a product wearing out and sometimes there are errors on the manufacturers part. That said, often times it's user error and that's the hardest one for me to admit. All in all I'm still a big Edge fan.
