Al-53, have you tried the black Edge2K with a little tougher polish lik the Menz Nano 106 yet? I'm thinking of moving from 3M to Menz at work and at home, the BMW clear coats are hard. Please keep us posted, I appreciate it.

We use wool pads with the Cyclo at work with wax polish and it works amazingly well. As soon as our stock of cheap pads is gone, we'll be using Edge2K pads on all machines, both the rotary Flex's, the orbital Flex and the Cyclo.

I think the Black may be a bit more of bite than I need....so I passed on that...I wanted a yellow but they had none...I used the green with SIP...and the blue with 106ff so far and and seemed to work great so far....I really wanted 6" but they do not carry them....I have a few places that the 8" is a bit big the get to with risking some worries...I have a few LC purple wools I will use in that area...smaller size...

So the black felt very agressive to me....they would work after a wet sanding ..I am just doing some lite marring and the green and blue work fine for that...

I'll try to get some 6" for my AEG rotary at home, it's a 1200 watt so I'm not sure it can handle 8". At work the new Flex orbital will have 6" wool pads in due time.

I get it, hope you get a shipment soon. Since we only got hold of 8"-the agent only bring in the 8" wool pads and not the entire line-I haven't had much choice yet. However, if they don't bring the stuff in one of my friends just might contact Edge to get an exclusive and sell the entire line here in Sweden.

Wool rules! Doesn't get hot like foam and nothing cuts better. That said, I think you should always polish afterwards with a foam pad - Edge's blue. Also, although you "can" use wool on a PC (been there - done that) Step on up and get a rotary, your hands, arms, back , etc will thank you in the morning.

One cool thing about our wool pads other than we make 5 colored textures and the quick connnect auto centering system, is that we are the only company that puts a patented indicator system in the pads to let you know when the wool pad is worn out. Unlike foam which you can see is worn out because it looks ground down, wool pads look like they still have plenty of hair but once that pile height is worn down the pad becomes more like a sanding wheel. Before our indicator system it was just an operator guess as to when the pad was worn out but now a big red circle will appear and let you know the pad is done. Here is a link to an animation of that.
