Another thing to keep in mind, the counterweights are marked "use only with 5" or 6" in reference to a 5 or 6 inch velcro backed sandpaper disc, which weighs significantly less than any foam pad.

Yeah--that's what he said, and his first detail with the PC is going to be a Masseratti.

I think it will throw the pad right off, particularly at 5 or 6. I may have done this early on in my learning process. I know my son did, because I ducked just in time--BOTH times! I assume it was accidental on his part.
It was exciting, though.

I don't have a PC (coz we use 240 volt in our country) but I have 4 different DA cum sander machine. 1 of them does vibrate and wobble a lot. It's becoz of the backing plate which is not stable. I use my hand to move it up & down. It will shake up & down (roughly bout 1mm up & down - right & left). And those sander machine can't really change the backing plate, u can only change the velcro plate. Anyhow I still got 3 machine to use.... Hehehe.

hm i think you should stick with it a little longer. im sure you are just experiencing normal vibrations from the pc. when i first started using my pc i couldnt handle it at all, i would get fatigued very quickly. but then i got used to it and now its a breeze.
