To the original poster, really read what orangez just typed, he knows what he's talking about and I do also agree that with the recent introduction of XMT 360, PB's is out in comparison. Just like he said, grab up XMT 4,3, and 360. 16oz bottles each will last you a good while at least 10+ cars from each bottle, but the value increases with the 32oz size, saving you a few bucks. If you chose only one to use the most and therefore need a 32oz size, make it xmt 360.

In Optimum's defense, I don't find it *too* much longer of a polish to use, but yes, it will take about a minute longer per panel to break down than the xmt/menzerna polishes. Another benefit of the optimum line is their product called poli seal, it's the same concept as xmt 360, it lightly corrects, can be used in ful sun, and adds a sealant that will protect your car alone for a good 2-3 months. Nice products.

As far as clay, I've only had good luck with the sonus green (not avail from AG), the meguiar's white over the counter stuff, and the four star white. I hate the sonus/clay magic gray...stay FAR away from that stuff, it'll marr your paint and *to me* it doesn't remove the contaminants near as well as some others.

Well now im leaning towards the XMT line, Ill get #4 and #3 aswell as 360 but what about when i want to wax the car? Will the finish come out just as well with carnuaba over the 360?

And is the paste version of pinnacles wax good? Pinnacle Souveran Paste Carnauba Wax

Also with using the XMT, is it better to buff off by hand or with the microfiber bonnet?

to be honest...i find that a mf bonnet takes longer than final buffing by hand...as long as you are using a quality finishing wax...i.e. souvern, ssII, natty blue, p21s, etc...they are all very easy to wipe by hand...if anything a buffing bonnet with the weight of the pc takes me longer and is more tiring...the pressure it takes to keep the towel against the paint is more than enough pressure to remove a quality carnauba...the only time i've use a buffing bonnet is on cheaper cleaner waxes...those tend to stick to the paint a lot harder....and the last time i used a wax like that was years ago....also you usually have to follow up with hand buffing anyway after using a buffing bonnet to get the tigher spots where the pc wont fit...as far as the xmt polishes go you will be using foam pads with your pc not a buffing bonnet...dont even bother trying to use xmt (or any polish) by hand if you have a pc

...general consensus is that souveran paste is the best wax AG sells...and the results prove it...if it doesnt fit your budget natty blue and ssII are a good bet as well...

xmt360 finishes very well on its own...but many top it off (including myself) with another wax or sealant anyway...most AIO like xmt360 are a trade off giving up one quality to add to another...in this case the correction abilities of xmt 360 does take away from its ability to have a deep slick gloss like a true lsp...it does still look very nice for an AIO...but a topper will definitely add to the look....also you should own an lsp anyway for the times you dont use the 360 on the paint....

You can top the xmt 360 with anything, a sealant like duragloss 105, or a wax like natty's blue, pinnacle souveran paste or liquid, etc. Haha, and yes, pinnacle souveran is more than good, it's amazing.

Never buff anything by hand, except (as orangez mentioned) for buffing off your last step products (lsp's). I agree with him in that it's quicker and more efficient for me to use a high quality micro fiber towel to remove a wax/sealant than a mf bonnet. I don't use those at all.

I agree with orngez and nimble. Using a bonnet with your PC to remove products that have been properly applied (read not to heavy), seems to me to be more work then just using a quality MF to buff off by hand. I'm sure
their will those who disagree and thats OK too.

Edge system seems good. I only have (linky deleted, wrong product) Edge Products Performance Parts and looking for more parts. Is there any update? I would love to read some to give me some points.

Im still alive! sorry for not getting back to you guys. Im still getting a PC setup, might take a week or two now due to I want to get what i need in one order and do it right. and this stuff costs $$$$

Should a PC with a pretty good operator and good pad/polish combo be able to take these out almost completely?

We sell Edge pads for buffers and rotaries, not performance parts, and thus we dont speak of performance parts in general on a detailing board. Since your links are outside of detailing they were deleted. We truly would rather have no links unless directly to our forum pages and PBMA store sites.

======================

As for Souveran Paste -- it is simply the best wax made at its price point. Just look at how often it is used as a challenger to every other wax or sealant that comes to market. They all hype they got the look .. yeah right ! 15 years and counting.

As for how to use, please follow the directions with Pinnacle pastes. They are all WOWO products and meant to be removed damp. By the time you could fire up a buffer and buff the wax dried. It is so easy to apply with a foamy (circle the top 2-3 times max, leading to over 30 applications over lifetime) and then buff with a good microfiber in one direction. Done ~
