what brand of pads did you get?

I got the Optimum package with the CCS pads. For heavier swirls, I use the Optimum Compound with the orange pad, then the Optimum Polish with a white pad to get rid of any hazing and get it smooth, then followed with the Poli-Seal with a gray pad. It has worked great for me.

Just take it a little at a time, I do an area about 1/4 of the hood at a time, using overlapping passes side-to-side, up and down, and diagonal. By that time it has worked down and I buff it off.

I'm not to sure how the clear coat is on the Sabb's (haven't worked on one yet) but what your thinking sounds like a good starting point. The orange pad and the Optimum Polish. If you see some minor scratches left over then the pad is to aggresive and you should change the pad and not to mention that you will have to go over it with perhaps a white pad with Optimum Polish.

Majority of the cases you may have to bump it up to Optimum Compund with orange pad and then go over it with Optimum Polish with white pad just like smsag04 said.

ya i got the pc 7424 and pad kit combo and purchased the optimum compound, polish and poliseal seperate bc it was cheaper and also got a couple extra pads.. i just didnt get the 6.5 in ccs orange pad... i got the 2 free wolfgang 5.5 in pads you get with the purchase but its practically the same pad... so ya i think i might do the compound with the polish first than go to the polish with white pad... lol this is gnna be interesting!!
