Hi lt2, and welcome!
The Makita isn't worth it IMO, because the buffer part of it doesn't have enough RPM's to really remove severe stuff a PC can't handle. It is nice to just "switch" from buffer to PC though.
The Metabo is the "Mercedes" of buffers. I wouldn't recommend a buffer with out some good PC experience.
The PC 7424 is an excellent machine and many will agree with me here.
I would recommend the EDGE pads, others will recommend the LC pads. I like the EDGE pads because they are double sided, mount and center very easy.
