New Version of DA?

Anybody heard about a new version of the DA under development that is to have more rotational ooomph?

I haven't heard that. It must be a rumor. I bought my PC7336 at Lowe's about a year ago.

Okay, I just emailed Porter Cable and asked them if they are coming out with a new model to replace the 7424/7336 and if so when it will be available. As soon as I hear back from them I'll post the response in this forum.

I doubt they will confirm anything. It would kill sales, and it is not an impending thing--just being "looked at" hard enough to where there is some discussion in the industry.

Friend is a manager at Lowes, and say the Porter Cable rep knows nothing. I have seen several mistaking the new Griots machine for a PC, when it is a chinese model. Share what you know ??

Okay. I just got a response from Porter Cable and here it is:

"Thank you for visiting the Porter-Cable website.
Marketing has not announced that we will be manufacturing a new
polisher. I have no information that model 7424 will be replaced at this
time."

So I guess we are left to draw our own conclusions.
