Smaller area?

This maybe a silly question but, I just got the PC and am waiting to really use it. When I watch the videos it shows the guy using it with xmt 3 and 1 on a 2'x2' area. what about those areas on the sides of the hood that are smaller and on the fenders and such that dont allow for the nice horizontal and vertical patterns that remove the swirls? What should I do on the smaller areas with the pc and xmt if they need it? I just keep wondering when I see vids that show it used on larger areas and not smaller ones like fenders. or the back of the car. I have the xmt kit with 3, 1,and glaze. I also just ordered a ton of stuff from AG last night!

Hello, I have a black truck and it has not been a problem for me doing one panel at a time inside out of direct sunlight. Just wipe down with a microfiber towel between coats and change pads if you can each time you use a different product. You will be amazed at the results you can do. Just enjoy it! put on some good loud music or a walkman and go to it! Andrew

You just work the area the best you can, alternative would be to use spot buffs in the tight areas.

Thanks, I'll just do the best I can. I guess then it is alright to just go in a back and forth motion and try to move vertical a little if possible. I just cant wait to get all my other stuff from AG.

Of course you can work as small an areas as is required, just make sure to work it until it starts to flash dry.

How about using the polishing pals?

Ill do that, I got a timer to make sure I work it for like 5 minutes.
Polishing pal maybe a good thing in really tight areas.

I have a polishin pal!! It's a great tool and will remove some very minor swirls with good polish, but it cannot remove more than that. If you use the PC you could use the spot buff pads also which are the same as the polishin pal pad, you would just have to get the smaller backing plate. If you're working a smaller area you will probably want to go more with the clues the polish gives you rather than the timer. A smaller area means that the polish will probably take longer to break down since it will be more loaded up. If you work it until it flashes then you should be just fine. Don't forget to post pics of your work so we can enjoy it with you.

Thanks for the info Florida, Im going to look into the spot pads. I cant wait to post some pics. Im doing a liberty tomorrow, but its pretty new so Im just gona use the xmt nuba glaze on it and a coat of #26 since I wont have my big AG order till next week . But when I get some vehicles with swirls and stuff I'll post some before and after pics as well. I guess I just upload them to my gallery right? Well gotta run, having my one boys 5th bday party today!!

We need some of them 4" edge pads!
