PFW and the PC

I've been wanting to get into the ever popular PFW using the PC. I've got a couple good polishes/compounds and plan to order at least 1 more.

My 'cart' right now has 3 of the 3.5 inch PFW pads but I got to thinking-will my 3.5 backing plate be too big? Do I need the smaller 2.75" BP and if so, do I also need the DA adaptor? OR does the 6.5 PFW do it's job using a PC? I realize smaller pads are better with the PC as far as correction.

Re: PFW and the PC

ok, simplified question:

If I order 3.5 purple foamed wool, is it safe to use my 3.5" backing plate.

If it's not, does the 2.75" BP require the DA adaptor or does the 2.75" screw right into the PC?

Re: PFW and the PC

I use the 3.5 purple foamed wool pad with the 3.5 backing plate. Never had an issue. Be sure to keep the pad flat and you will have no problems.

It would be safer to use the 2.75" bp and yes you will need the adapter.

Re: PFW and the PC

I also use my 3.5'' backing plate and have had no problems. Just use a little common sense and you will be fine.
