PC 7424 vs. PC 7336

Well, I was going to take the plunge today and buy my PC at Lowe's since I wanted instant gratification... but they didn't have it!

Apparantly, all the stores even in the region are sold out. But they did have the PC 7336. It came with a sander and a polisher for $109, which seemed like a fair price.

Is this an acceptable replacement for the PC 7424? If so, I'll buy the PC 7336 at Lowe's and then buy the Poorboys kit etc. on this forum.

Thanks again for all the help!

its ok.......you will need the 5" velcro backing plate with the poor boy kit since that kit has the 6.5 velcro pads

Yes it's okay. The 7336 and the 7424 are almost exactly the same. I would go to Customer Service and see if you can get 10% off for opening a charge acount with them. I did that and got my PC for $98.10.

Bill - thanks for that, you saved me from making a mistake there. I saw the $9.99 DA 5 Inch Flex Backing plate (http://www.autogeek.net/dual-action-backing-plates.html) and assumed that was the one I needed.

So you're saying that with the Poorboy kit I need this backing plate?

If I do buy other Lake Country pads, will it work with this backing plate?

20.00 bucks is 20.00 bucks, but you should consider the time you have already wasted and will waste trying to save a couple bucks. Buy the package and get it all at once .... sometimes a good deal is the one you really dont need to work so hard for.

I can see that I might be stepping on some toes here...

Apologies for all the questions, but I'm on a budget. If I can save $20 by purching the PC 7336 at Lowe's, then I've got an extra $20 I can spend here on some extra AIO or Cobra microfiber towels.

But Killr, your input is appreciated and you raise a valid point.

now you get to sit back and design your steps for detailing. I bet the extra time not running from store to store will be much more valuable to you and your family.
