With this setup now ... everything is being pushed about to its limit, and runs hot.

Right now ... It would/should yeild low 14's high 13's (nv4500 dont like to shift super fast, and 35's dont help ... lol) ... And thats without launching in boost

With the new setup ... Ill be happy with 12's. It will be capable of hitting 11's ... but with the 3600 12cb double disc clutch setup I am going to run to hold the power ... Im not sure if I could shift fast enough to get that times ... and again ... 35's ...

When I get the newset all done ... I will hit the track for sure ... but just for fun and to get a time out of it.

I built this truck more as a street rod, then a track truck. Its wicked on the street now ... I cant wait till 600+!!

Re: Pad Exploded ...

My buddy had a wicked lifted 4dr Cummins (03) with manual trans, he then picked up a new mega cab with the 6.7 and new 6 speed auto, engine/trans combo is awesome but it drinks diesel like a gasser.

thats super sick to make that heavy beast run possibly 12's.My LT1 with just the functional ram air and SLP 3inch cat back runs 13.7-13.9.But the tranny is starting to shift a little soft so the clutches are probably on there way out.im thinking i might just get it rebuilt and toss in 3.73s and call it a day because id rather save up for a LS1 WS6 or SS M6.

5.9>6.7

The 6.7's are great for the normal person ... Dont get me wrong. But obviously performance diesel's are like my life. When they went to the 6.7 ... too much went into it (emission wise). The DPF (diesel particle filter) alone took away so much power/torque. And man ... what a pain they are to work on

I think he's just going to tune it, take dpf off, just do intake/exhaust. The 6.7 and 6 speed is really nice for towing and somebody not wanting to go wild with mods, I don't see it having the performance potential of the other diesels or 5.9 Cummins. He had a 5.9 Cummins with the old 4 speed auto but go rid of it after a month, horrible match when used mainly for towing but fine for street driving, it sucked pulling a 38ft Cigarette. Thats when he got the 5.9 and manual trans, so much better towing with control of 6 gears.

All this new egr crap is choking the diesels, Duramax/Cummins/Powerstroke suck donkey balls for mileage now, his 5.9 Cummins would easily cruise at 70 and get 23 mpg even with the long bed filled with crap and dirtbikes in tow. Cruising at 70 in the 6.7 empty gets like 15 and its well broken in now.

Very true ... for him ... Im sure he will like it. For me ... 5.9 all the way!

So does anyone have a clue about this pad? ... Im hoping someone from autogeek itself will chime in. Id LOVE to use these pads on some right areas ... but honestly ... that scared me!!

Forgot his 5.9 was lifted as well on 35's and still got great mileage with the manual trans. I wonder if the new 6 speed auto could be mated up to the 5.9, that would be wicked.

About the pad, I have 4" Edge pads that were pre-production I got for testing long time ago, I've used both on speed 6 with the PC and never had trouble. Have no idea what made your pad explode.

Im not an auto kind of person ... Id rather have the stick. The 5-speed nv4500 (What I have) is a GREAT tranny. The nv5600 6-speed is also a great tranny, they added the extra gear in the middle to spilt the 2-3/3-4 shift. The G56 (6 speed) seems to be a good tranny. Some of the aftermarket clutches were having a hard time mating up right, but everything seems good now.

As for the pad ... I still have no clue!!

Re: Pad Exploded ...

Maybe it had a small air pocket in it and when the air got hot it expaned and your pad blew up. Thats my theory.

Thats a good theory ... But I would think that the pad would be able to escape freely with the movement, and softness of the foam.

Thing that sucks is that was my ONLY small white pad ...
