Detailing a boat need some help!

as title says i just bought a 21 ft. four wins boat with my freind the overall cond of the boat is great it just needs some tlc... the exterior is alil worn so im looking to hit it with my pc 7424 my only ques is would it be ok to use the optimum line up that i use for my car.. i was planning on using the opt. polish with maybe a white or blue pad and then the poliseal ... there are some minor black scuffs on the boat and paint is alil dull just wnna brighten it up alil bit.. so any tips woudl be great i know they make polishes and waxes just for boats but i really dont thnk theres that great of a difference in them... so thanks for the advice guys! and also and products or tips you think would work great on vinyl seats there white and have some stains on them so some heavy duty vinyl cleaner would be great to thnks guys!!

I typed a nice long reply, but it seemed liked the site timed out before I tried to post, and my reply got lost. Anyhow, try your plans above. If it doesn't last long enough, you may need to go with an acylic sealant. It's a coating that may need to be stripped if it yellows or peels and lasts about a year if stored outside, longer if protected from UV light.

I usually do a good wash, then compounding on my boats... the compound will take off the black scuffs and discoloration. I use collinite fleetwax on the hull after I finish.. it lasts forever and makes the boat look amazing.. im also going to try "woody wax" for the non-skid and deck areas of my boat this season and see how that comes out. good luck!
