HELP: How to remove backing plate

I'm in the process of trying to remove my BP from my PC7424
I'm holding the nut with wrench and I'm trying to turn the BP counterclock wise but no luck
Is this the way is supossed to be done?

I don't have it in front of me but it sounds like that's the right way (CCW that is)... It'll probably take a bit of elbow grease if its been on there for a while.

Did you use the spacer?

Thanks guys. You're all correct. Yes, it does have the spacer
It did just require a little bit of elbow grease. After it was done, I cleaned the threads, and put a bit of anti-seize so it won't be that hard to turn next time
So, it was turning the BP CCW while holding the nut in place

I swear -one time I was turning mine the wrong way actually making it tighter- its amazing what turning it the right way will do!!!! hahaha
