Got my UDM today :) now i'm concerned :(

I hope I get some answers form this forum before I even start using my UDM.

After reading the reviews between the UDM and the PC i finally decided to get the UDM.

I got all my stuff today! dang I am happy.

However, on opening the box, I see my UDM has a manufacturing date of 5/1/07.

I have read on this forum about the switch issues affecting the units produced in that time frame?

What do you experts suggest? Should I simply return the UDM and swap it for a PC? or, should I try the UDM? I would not want to open the packing since it has that known date on it

Please help me decide.

Did you get the replacement switch for it. The new switch looks like the PC switch but in red.

Does the switch look like this

Or this but in red

The switch looks like the PC 7424... hmmm that makes me think... a re-called unit or maybe a unit that was fixed ?

switches were sent out to all resellers to replace prior to shipping, no issue.

If you have the old switch you'll know the first time you use it. You'll turn it on when you don't want to and fling polish everywhere.
