7424 or UDM

I was about to order the $199 7424 kit when I noticed the banner for the UDM intro kit for $189. Both kits come with a variety of pads and the pad cleaner/conditioner. The 7424 seems to have years of problem free service. Is the UDM as reliable as the 7424? Those of you who own or have used both please tell me your opinion.

Re: 7424 or UDM

I own both the UDM has more power and is quite similar to the 7424. If I were you for the more power I would suggest the UDM. But you can't go wrong with either. I have since purchased a Flex and a rotary So my PC has been setup for carpet duty and my UDM will be set for spot polishing, glass and headlights as well.

Re: 7424 or UDM

I am sure the UDM will turn out to be a great machine after some of the intitial quality/design issues are worked out.

If I were deciding at this moment between a PC or UDM it would be PC all the way.

I personally cannot afford to be sitting in front of a vehicle to polish only to find my machine doesn't work.. Even if I were doing a personal vehicle I would be extremely frustrated so much that a 100% no questions asked return policy would not suffice.

Re: 7424 or UDM

PC would assure you problem free. I have no problems with my UDM, but others have had.
