Thumbs down Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug and Tar remover

I'm very disapointed in this product. Although that it does strip off all the dead bugs off of my hood and front bumper, it has scratched it up pretty bad all over. Not deep scratches but light scratches all over. I soaked the sponge, used lots of water and soap and rub as light as i could ever do it but under lighting, it has already done the damage. I just polished my car so i will have to redo the front and hood again. I feel like this is not a user error but a product error. I love Pinnacle products but this one, quite frankly, did not live up to the brand.

Re: Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug and Tar remover

Sorry to hear that , I use it on my black 300 everytime we hit love bug season. Its the only thing that gets those horrible bugs off! I put it in the bucket of soapy water and let it sit a bit, then remove the lovely love bugs! Works great on getting them out of the grill too, seems their "guts" like to stick on real tight to the grill.

Re: Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug and Tar remover

yeah, it never really believed in any bug scrubbers, especially on black paint that doesn't scratch it up. I thought this would. I'm going to use this sponge strictly on my front windshield from now on.

i use them for really bad bugs, glass and even keep one in the shower stall for cleaning. with bugs you can try the least aggresive method first (like polishing).

I can vouch for Meghan's 300, I didn't see any scratches on her front end. Back in march when I rubbed on it

Sorry to hear that. I've used mine several times and I have never seen any swirls or scratches from it.

Re: Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug and Tar remover

Florida love bugs are the worst!!!!!! The best way to get bugs off easily is the keep several coats of wax on your vehice. I use Pinnacle souveran paste wax and when bugs hit my car- a microfiber and a spray of qd is all it takes-they slide right off.

Re: Pinnacle Safe Scrub Bug and Tar remover

I always keep a spray bottle of QD and one or two mf towels in the trunk in my Pinnacle bag. No matter wherever I drive if I spot a fresh bug splat or bird dropping I just soak it real good with the qd and they always come off without having to scrub real hard. Not letting the spots stay on the paint for a long period of time and bake on is the secret IMO.
