The Packard will always have a special place in my heart as the company originated and first started producing cars in a city about 15 min away from where I grew up (Warren,OH)

Adam aka HarleyGuy is always our Metal Man, he gravitates towards making dull metal shiny, here he tested some Flitz metal polish out on the rear passenger side wheel...

After polishing a portion of the oxidized aluminum...

The upper portion of the rim is still dull and oxidized...

We'll let Pete get the wheels...

Re: Video and Pictures - 1967 AC Cobra and 1949 Packard Show Car Makeovers!

Networking the Autogeek way
My buddy Lew brought his truck to Autogeek a few weeks ago and we removed the swirls out of the paint on his truck and created a show car finish to really put his customer 1947 Chevy Roadster Pickup over the top...

Live Video Broadcast - 1947 Chevy & 1986 Porsche 928 - Extreme Makeovers

Lew shared what we do here at Autogeek with his buddy Don and Don came down last night to check us out. Don also brought this automobile... a 1970 Mustang in very good condition but he's bringing this Mustang back and we're going to take it to Show Car Quality.

Here's Don's Mustang, looks pretty good to the average person...

When you know how to truly inspect the finish on a Special Interest Car then you know there's a little room for improvement and if you think this car looks good in the above pictures wait till we warm it over by MACHINE!

This is a full size section cropped out of the original above, no resizing.

Oxidized Single Stage Paint
The below is a reflection shot of the overhead florescent tube lights, what I want you to see is the dull, opaque look the paint has at the bottom of the reflection of the lights. This is light oxidation and even though the car looks beautiful in the pictures above, in person the paint has a dull sheen to it caused by oxidation. This is a single stage paint by the way.

Watch the bottom of the forum homepage for the sign-up announcement to be part of the team of people that take the paint on this Mustang to its maximum potential!

The Cobra sounds as good as it looks, it has a 302 SBF and a 6-Speed transmission. We went out to dinner with Pete after I shut down the studio and we could see the car from where we sat and the entire time we were there anyone walking out or walking in stopped and gawked at it. One lady ran her hand over the paint in a couple of places.

David was thrilled with the way the Packard came out, he brought his detailer Terry along and Terry tried out the Flex 3401 for the first time and love it.

Both cars look as good in person as they do in the pictures.

Cool. Packards have a very strong following in the collector car world. This one runs super smooth with the 425 Cubic Inch Caddy engine in it. I'm confident with the Cadillac frame, suspension and brakes it rides smooth too...

I see David at Gweed's all the time as he's always there showing his Packard, I think there's at least half a dozen cars there now that have been detailed here at Autogeek and another 30+ of the local guys have their car on our TV show...

Re: Video and Pictures - 1967 AC Cobra and 1949 Packard Show Car Makeovers!

Over the weekend I received an e-mail from David, the owner of the Packard and he talked to Blinky the owner of the 1948 Cadillac that was on Episode #4 of our TV show and Blinky says he would love to bring in his Cadillac for a Show Car Makeover.

The paint in the picture above and even on the TV show looks like it's in excellent condition but in person it's filled with lots of swirls and light oxidation, kind of like the above 1970 Mustang.

So look for a sign-up thread to be part of the team that does the makeover on this beautiful Cadillac.
