| | | Those pics are great, I actually thought you did a wonderful job. I just got a Nikon D200 which I love, I am giving my Fuji S2 Pro a bit of a rest. After using the Nikon the Fuji pics look aweful, Nikon has so much more detail in the photos. But as everyone else says the majority of the outcome comes from the photographer NOT the camera. |

I love the lens, to get used to compensating for its lack of ability, I use a tripod or monopod alot and have also made myself use the manual focus on everything I take to get used to doing it fast. Adjusting the aperature and shutter speed with that, I think I am fairly competent with this. Hey I could only afford 2 lemons, just enough for a glass of lemonade | Yep, and as long as it makes you happy thats all that matters. But thats different for everyone.
But then again, you can only do so much with a lens that takes soft pictures. Some are more critical then others.

But 1 and 2 could use a lot of help. 1 is very over exposed on the left, lacks detail, and slightly out of focus. 2 lacks detail as well and you cant see the face.

Anyhow, that was offhand, no tripod and a ways away. I also used the "auto-exposure" feature in my picture editing program, so the exposure was probably much better/darker before the program changed it. I agree though about the lizards, I thought they should have been drawn in more, or used macro mode. I think my wife took those pictures.
And yes, taking pictures of my kids does make me happy
I know there is a lot wrong with this one, but this is one I took with my little point and shoot cheapo camera before getting the Rebel XT. I thought it was a nice capture....it's my current desktop background
