no offense, but I find it amusing to here so many disses on Zaino because you "have" to do so many layers. (you dont) And most of you all still do 3-10 layers of this or that. What is the difference, inquiring minds truly want to know ??

Personally, I think people who are into detailing just like to detail a lot: I personally, if time permitted, would put a layer of wax on my truck on a weekly basis. Does it make it look any better? Not sure, but maybe I just like waxing my truck.

I think the same goes for many others.

I understand that looks are highly subjective and based upon the end user specifically. That said, it mutes your credibility when you slam any product for having too many steps or requiring this or that in order to achieve the best look, and at the same time are doing just the same with your product line of choice.

Again not pointing finger at anyone, but maybe we should all open our minds and close our mouths long enough to try both/all and then discuss what personal merits you found most beneficial.

(ex. if I am going to use polycharger or Duragloss 601 to add to my sealant of choice, then why hang ZFX out as something outside the normal).

i dont use zaino...i probably never have...i personally do 2 coats of jetseal becuase its what it says on the bottle...and for those who put 7 layers to 79 layers, they did it merely as a test to see if more is better...

they were pretty much doing the test that all of us want to know...and by the looks of it..well u can look it up on autopia to see the results.

even paul dalton had coated many layers of zymol royale...is there a difference, i dunno i never seen his work in person, but i think he has credibility to know that atleast his 3 or 4 coats he puts on is valid

The reason why I don't use ZFX is because I don't feel like being a little chemist when I have to detail my vehicles. I am still using Z1 which is often described as "old school" but it works great. No mxing, no messing around with little bottles, syringes, lab coats or goggles.

Z1 and the Klasse twins for the reasons stated above, mostly because I know they work well. Would gladly try other products if it weren't for all the confusing chatter and fan boxes shouting out esoteric warnings about finnicky sealants. Forget the chemistry lab, it's more of a grimoire requiring special incantations and methods.

How can you assert that Jet-seal is the best then, without ever trying what some consider the best sealant in the industry. Dont we owe it to all to personally try ???

And I totally agree that Diminishing value rears its ugly head on all products. I have never seen the need for more than one coat of wax or sealant in any case other than complete coverage. Sure durability of the sealant might increase but too many other factors of note from the environment. (ie. change of seasons, rain, cold )
