Winterizing - undercoating options

Has anyone heard of a product called, Liquid Film? It comes in a spray can or gallon cans to be sprayed on, and protects the undercarriage and bare metal from the winter elements. I have seen positive reviews but don't know anyone who has personally used it.

If anyone has used it I would appreciate any feedback you have regarding it or other similar product.

Ive used it on hand tools for prolonged storage. It works ok. It seems to disappear after a month or so and thats just on hand tools stored in a tool box. It's very sticky and messy when applied and it smells terrible. YMMV. Ive seen this waxy type of rust preventative on frames before and ive heard it referred to as frame butter but I think thats just a slang term. It holds up great and is the best ive ever seen at preventing rust in the underbody.

I have Krown rust proofing applied yearly. It is sprayed inside body panels and also to the undercarriage. It is a non-toxic fluid.

They sell aerosol cans of the stuff you could easily spray on the undercarriage.

I finished winterizing my truck yesterday with fluid film. I have a 13 year old truck that doesn't look it underneath thanks to the 2 previous owners use of this product. I bought a nice kit online from a company in Massachusetts.

Liftedsuburban, I assume you can't hit the tailpipes or things of that nature that get hot.

Can you tell how long it last between applications? I am mainly concerned with getting through the winter months and go to the touchless automatic quite often w/undercarriage spray so not sure how well it will hold up.

Yeah you don't want to spray manifolds or pipes but a little overspray won't cause problems. Seems to hold up extremely well to the elemyents. Car wash will not wash that stuff off easily. I thought there was none left on the frame but when I touched it there was still a layer from last year under the dirt. Amazing stuff.

Good deal. My car is new and undercoat ed so just want to hit a few things under the hood, rockers, around fender wells... Any exposed metal I can find.

Your welcome. It really is good stuff. I would also recommend doing the bottom of the doors, even inside the doors. Flexible 2' extensions can be put on the spray cans allowing access to hard to reach areas.
