| | | 5 star shine, any one heard of it? I was surfin the web yeaster day and i ran across something interesting, its called 5 star shine, here, i copied some stuff from their site, it seems pretty interesting.
"From technology proven in the aerospace industry comes a paint protection system guaranteed to protect your car's finish for 5 years and keep it incredibly clean. 5 Star Shine's patented two step PPS technology took its inventer over a decade to develop and patent (patent # 5,081,171). In fact, 5 Star Shine's PPS technology is the only paint protection system ever awarded a patent by the U.S. Government and used by the US Navy.""5 Star Shine's PTFE has been used in the U.S. space program since the program's infancy. When astronaut Neil Armstrong took his first moon walk in 1969, PTFE was used in the space suits, blankets, heat shields and cargo hold liners of the lunar lander. PTFE is one of the most protective coatings known to man. PTFE is inert to virtually all chemicals and is considered the most slippery material in existence. It provides superior protection against all types of chemical damage to your paint and even repels water and dirt from sticking. The end result is a deep, beautiful shine that stays incredibly clean. When washing is needed you can simply rinse dirt away with a hose!" "Is approved by Rolls Royce International and used by the U.S. Air Force and the Lear Jet Corporation…" "For years, the Navy had a problem keeping their Aegis radars clean in the harsh environments they operate in. Soot from the exhaust stacks was a particular problem and the location of these radars made cleanings difficult and dangerous. Once the Aegis radars were treated with 5 Star Shine, the soot buildups were drastically reduced and when cleanings were required they were far easier for the sailors. To date, the Navy has saved thousands of man hours since treating the fleet with 5 Star Shine."We are proud to announce that 5 Star Shine is being used now on such great Navy ships as, the USS McFaul, USS Monterey, USS Ross, USS Arleigh Burke, USS Cape St. George, USS Blue Ridge, USS Mitscher, USS Shoup, USS Stethem and many others!" Step #1 Wash your vehicle thoroughly then repeat using our 5 STAR SHINE Polarizing Wash. Let the paint air dry. Rinse Step #1 off the car and dry thoroughly. This opens the paint's pores and puts a positive charge on the surface. Step #2 Apply the Step #2, PTFE formula just like any wax or polish. Apply to each section and buff off immediately. This negatively charged protectant fuses to the positively charged surface with a powerful, electromagnetic grip. You're done! It seems to me that they have the credit to back their product. I think it is worth a closer look. |

This product comes up every so often, and sold on Ebay. Its nothing more than a paint sealant. Think Klasse SG ... not all that special and nobody who's tried it got anywhere near 5 years of protection. |

A good friend of mine is trying it and the results are impressive. His car worn before Klasse SG (around 20 coats) for a long time, but he says that this product is much better for protection, water repellency, etc...
Trust me that my purpose isn't to create some polemic, I just want to see the results with my own eyes and then decide if the product works. |

| | | Then I'm a bit strange... I only give my opinion about a product if I try it. And I tried lots and lots of paint sealants, waxes, etc... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
