Pet Peeves!

I don't know about ya'll, but in addition to the totally absent minded way that people drive, there are some things that really bug me so I decided to start a thread to vent about it!

I have two things that really bug me when I see them.

#1 a vehicle that is a total beater or with a paint in horribly neglected condition that has gorgeous, shiny rims! I hate that!

#2 A really gorgeous car (especially a sports car) that is in top condition the paint glows and they have one of those little tennis balls or other such thing on their antennae! That drives me INSANE!!

Okay AG it's your turn to vent. What drives you up the wall?

car magnets that are always melted and stuck to the paint... i dont think the troops are gonna pay for your car to be repainted when you remove that damn ribbon!

senile elderly drivers

bad taste in music or style( teeny boppers for example)

people who smoke in there cars. im not trying to tell people how to live there life but its stupid and unhealthy to smoke, and when you do it in your vehicle it can create burns, make the windows absolutely disgusting, and coats the whole interior in tar and nasty cigarette smell.

people who own huge vehicles for driving around town. and will never use that space or towing capacity of the vehicle

thats it for now....

Sitting at a stoplight that only lets 4 to 5 cars thru that takes 8 minutes to
cycle back and the person in front of you talking on a cell phone and
hesitates for 15 to 20 seconds before they realize it's green and they go thru
and you get caught. ARGGGGGGGG!

The people that hose the parking lot off at fast food places hosing around
you clean and detailed car with splatters of water on your wheels and bottom
of your car. I usually get out and ask if they don't mind holding up till I get
by.

Many more like this but to many to list. These are the ones that make me
crazy.

Left Lane hoggers that match the speed of the slow poke in the right hand lane.

SPEED UP, GET OVER or GET OFF THE ROAD!

United States will be the best country when there will be no speed limit on freeways , just like in Germany; matter of fact, I even heard that if you get in in rear while driving in a left lane on autobahn - it's your fault - you are driving too slow (even if you were going over 150 MPH!!!) Isn't that nice????

while i agree with the logic, i doubt thats true because the autobahn gets packed all the way across the lanes and since theres no speed limit and its europe i dont think they have the left lane= fast lane... because every lanes a fast lane!

I've driven on the Autobahn and my understanding is that the left lane is a passing lane only. People don't just drive in it like it's any other lane. Also, since you drive at such high speeds they are very serious about traffic rules. If you are in the left lane and someone hightails it up behind you and flashes their lights and you don't move, you get a ticket. If you pass on the right, you get a ticket. Passing on the right is extremely serious there because they don't even really look for people passing on the right. I've talked to many German tourists in my life and when I ask them what they like best about the U.S. mostly they say they love driving here. They say that in Germany they have to follow so many rules, but in America you can do anything you want and drive any way you want and nobody cares. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

do anything you want? im a pretty safe driver but i got pulled over, and know other people who got pulled over for stupid stupid stuff. i know europeans are strict about the rules though, they have common courtesies unlike many people here. driving down us19 sucks here cause of all the old people... they looooooove the left lane!
