Post Anyone heard/use "Wipe New"?

Watching late night TV and this commercial comes on about a liquid you can wipe on the interior/exterior trim and that it'll restore and protect it for years. It says it'll even restore your headlights. Even has someone that claims to be a professional detailer with years of experience claiming how well it works. I looked up the website Wipe New™ Car Surface Restorer - As Seen On TV | Official Site and it claims the following:

Wipe New™ Features: • Revolutionary product used by professionals • Easy to use and apply • Last for years • Restores and protects with one wipe • Also use on RV, boats and motorcycles • Use on both interior/exterior surfaces • Save time and money!

Has anyone ever heard of this product or maybe even use it. I like trying out new products so I may try it out to test it's claims.
If I do, I'll be sure to do a write up.

Re: Anyone heard/use "Wipe New"?

Wow! That sounds like a product that I'll try....never. Are you kidding me? When did you ever see a product, much less a detailing product, on "late night TV" that was worth anything? But make sure you order before midnight tonight!

I wonder if the "professional detailer" they got to hawk it is responsible for some of the hacked up cars we see on here. I could understand this question from a newb, but you seem to be a pro...and that scares me.

Re: Anyone heard/use "Wipe New"?

It'd be funny if he was even a real detailer, it would be even funnier if he was responsible. But let me clarify two things that I guess you don't know:
1) I like trying new products, without trying new products how do you know that they're are in fact better or worse than what you currently use?
- I remember when Bill Mays was promoting Oxyclean in tv commercials and now it's part of all sorts of cleaning products, thats just one example.

2) When I try new products I DO NOT use my customers vehicles for my test subjects. I use my vehicles and those of very consenting friends and families who have been trusting me with there vehicles for years, hell if I'm not mistaking thats the same method most detailers on here use for new products.

I don't get why you would be scared of a professional trying something new even if it's something from a late night commercial. Whats even funnier is how you reacted to someone simply asking if anyone has heard or used that product. A simple yes or no would have sufficed.

Re: Anyone heard/use "Wipe New"?

The more often I see that commercial, the worse the applied areas look. I'm almost willing to bet it's some sort of mix of tire dressing and a sealant. I did an internet search for reviews a while ago, and I'm fairly confident that most of the reviews I read, were in fact, faked. I'm interested for someone with actual experience to chime in.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's heard of it. I was thinking the same thing about it's makeup.
That's the whole reason to this post being made.

Re: Anyone heard/use "Wipe New"?

I saw it last night and immediately searched the forums. Some things as seen on TV actually work. I want too see the claim myself. If someone does use it write a review and see what its worth.

Re: Anyone heard/use "Wipe New"?

If I do decide to order it I'll be sure to do just that.
I'm not sure if I will considering some peoples opinions of trying some product you're seen on tv.
