Meguiars M188 Deep Crystal Coating

Why is this product not offered here in the states? I know we have OC2.0 but I would like to have M188.

-Might be a VOC "compliance-issue"...(real, or not...IMO).

-Meguiar's may not want to make inroads to their current products line-up.

-Perhaps it's formulated for specific areas of the World, and their particular:
"climatic/environmental-paint-encounters".

I say:
If it's good enough for the above climatic/environmental-scenarios...
Then it should be more than marvelous for any of the USA's environmental-extremes.

Just some speculation on my part.

Re: Meguiars M188 Deep Crystal Coating

I believe it has been stated before that this product, as FUNX alludes to, is specifically for the Southeast Asian market, and the weather conditions present there. (Although I agree, it would seem that would not preclude its use here, but there are plenty of products that are not sold here because of our tort environment).

Meguiar's was very late to the rinseless wash market, they may yet sell a WOWA here.

Re: Meguiars M188 Deep Crystal Coating

I read that it must be applied twice yearly to be effective, so its not in the same class as the coatings for sale here.

-As known...The USA is currently not in the Meguiar's marketing-base-loop...
(and, as a footnote, our number of vehicles, new/used has become quite static lately.)

-The OEM vehicle manufacturers have realized that with the explosive growth
in the Asian vehicle market arena, this is also a place they want to be...

-I'm sure car-care products companies, including Meguiar's, want to also be a presence there, and be
able to address, first-hand, the concerns of the OEM's and the vehicle owners in this area of the World..

M188 (for: protection/Meguiar's-Asia):
-Although we still get our fair share of natural/man-made contaminates...
(some brought to us, courtesy of the "trade-winds")

-It's a drop in the bucket!...compared to the acid-rains caused by pollutants belching from
the unregulated industrial-machine-complexes...[perhaps, even machinizations ]...
going full-tilt in the Asian countries...that are:

1.) Trying to meet not only the demands for their own consumers...
2.) But to also pick up the slack caused from the outsourcing of USA manufacturing/products.
(It is said the USA is Asia's biggest customer)

-OH how well I remember not being caught-up in the "frenzy", of sort, in the:
'Why isn't M101 available here in the States!!'... discussion.

-I do not plan, however, of allowing this:
'M188-opportunity'...meet with a similar fate!!

Re: Meguiars M188 Deep Crystal Coating

M101 is a product that Meg's only sells to the European refinish industry, based on some specific requirements and the type of paint they use over there. IIRC it was supposed to cut faster than M105 with less haze and not dry out so fast, so everyone wanted it here and some people ordered it from overseas. Meg's was adamant they wouldn't sell it here.
