I am planning on having my new car windows tinted. The back window has ridges for either radio antenna or rear window defrost and I can feel them when I am cleaning the class. Is this a concern for tinting the back window and will it affect the reception of the radio or defroster? Thanks for any replies. JoeD

Not sure of the antenna, but the defroster grid on the glass should not be an issue,
the only issue im aware of is those cluster black dots on the upper glass on front and rear glass on G.M. cars,
and maybe some foreign cars also.

Today I'm having them re-do my rear glass as i posted yesterday, i'll see what it looks like when i pick it up and i'll post my verdict.....

The tint will not affect your recepetion or defroster. The defroster lines is where we splice the tint together depending on what type of car they'll make 2 or 3 pieces. The black dots are a nightmare and can cause a concern. On some of the GM cars we used to tint up to the dots then spray the dots black to hide them.

Thats a good idea about the painting of the dots, plenty of masking skills involved I assume........you really don't notice the nightmare inside the car, only the outside view........

Paint? flat black??

I have a recipe for the stuff I use to clean my telescope optics (when needed), but I'd want Killer's OK before posting. It'll take an oily fingerprint off the glass with just the weight of the surgical tissue I use for cleaning and leaves nothing behind.

Thanks pat........but the problem we have with the black dots on the glass is between the glass/dots and the tint....not on top of it........

The black paint as suggested would hid this....

Yes, you have to mask out the car and use a flat black
